One of my first grade students just lost her dad to cancer. I have a photo of the two of them that I would like to have made into a pillow for her. I'm thinking a smallish rectangle that, perhaps, she could sleep with.
Do any of you photographers print on fabric? Or do you know of anyone who might be able to do this. I've seen some garish looking pillows and obviously hope to get something tasteful.

Doing a search for printing on fabric. These two links look interesting. They talk about using Epson archival inks and stabilizing the fabric with freezer paper when putting it through the printer. I'd print it and then sew the piece of fabric to the pillow case.

Thanks so much for the search and info Larry! I'm hoping to find someone to do this for me. I don't think I want to risk it in my basic printer.
Jeanne: If you have the image, it is really easy to do. I obtained the fabric paper from Hobby Lobby and made a pillow for my grandson using my inkjet printer.

Thanks Cyreathia! I heard back from a young local artist who prints her illustrations on fabric. Her mom then makes beautiful designer quality pillows.
I wish I had taken a photo of the pillow before giving it to my student. She had a huge smile and mom cried. They were going to spray it with Daddy's cologne. She sleeps with it every night.
So cool. I just had some time and was going back through posts and getting myself caught up.
Such a great idea - you are so sweet and thoughtful for this little girl. Brings tears to my eyes as I was always a "daddy's girl" and lost him in '97 in a boating accident. You go girl - you have made the healing a little easier for her and are keeping great memories alive.
