Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to have found you, I have been reading all the blogs and discussion and its so great to have this support system, mostly for newbies like me.

I'm open to any recommendation, suggestion, comment and advise you can give me. I have mostly work indoors so I pretty much don't have any experience in professional outdoor fine art shows. As you can see I attached photos of 2 of my art pieces and one from my booth in the only outdoor show I have done.I need to know if you think I'll have a chance at the jurying and how can I improve my booth without having to sell an eye. This is also the list of shows I'm trying to apply, please help me with any information you have.

St. James court Ky
Central Pa festival of the arts, state college Pa
Coconut Grove arts festival Fl
Allentown Art Festival Buffalo, NY
Alexandria Festival of the arts VA
Columbus arts festival, OH
Three Rivers Arts Festival,Pittsburgh Pa
Rittenhouse square fine art show Pa

I'm in the Philadelphia area, if you have other suggestions please feel free.

Thanks, in advance for any help and I hope im not bugging you too much!
Love,
Lu

  • You're picking a good selection of shows but your jury images need work, if those are your jury images. No identification on the images, one has a web site URL and distracting white border. The booth has an opening in the back, a red award ribbon and name sign and you can see people walking. The shows you want to apply to are very competitive and your jury images need to be as good as they can be.

    • Hi Larry!!

It's me again, the booth image is killing me(I bet you hear that all day!), I'm freaking out because I have a couple of deadlines coming soon. So I did what you recommended, a friend let me use his propanels, set up everything no signs, no people. I just don't know if is going to be enough. I have like 20 pictures, but Im sending you just one, I don't want to take much of your time. I'm always looking forward for your comments, so please don't hesitate to tell me what to do.

      Sincerely Grateful,

      Lu

        • Sorry Larry!

    • Thank you Larry, very much! I'm already working on it. I'm taking new pictures of my booth tomorrow and if you don't mind I would love to have your opinion again. About the artwork I'm trying really hard to take the border off, but I'm pretty awful with photoshop or computers at all. So as soon as I have everything I'll be bothering you again.

      THANKS!!!
      Lu
      • Let me see your booth image while the booth is still set up. Contact me off list.

      • Hello - I agree with Larry, the opening on the back of the booth is distracting as is the award ribbon. On the images, keep in mind some places don't want anything identifying who you are for the judging. When I took my booth shot last year, I had to take my banner off in Photoshop so my name wouldn't show. Also, crop your images edge to edge with no border. As far as taking your name off, maybe try using the clone tool, or if you don't think it will take away too much - just crop it out.
        • Thanks Stephanie!
I'll keep trying to clean them and keep you updated!
