hi from a newbie!

hi all. i am not only new to afi, but new to the blogging world.  just not something i've done in the past (because i know i would get addicted!)

a little about me. my name is jenna, i am 25 and have lived in cincinnati for the past three years, although originally from pittsburgh pa.  i went to carnegie mellon for a double major in biomedical and mechanical engineering, and a minor in design.  on graduation, i got a job doing package design engineering at p&g.  i hated every uncreative second of it :)

so, i spent every waking second outside of work developing my jewelry business which i had dabbled with since as long as i can remember, and also taught myself web design tools so that i could do something effective with my graphic design capabilities.

now, i run a jewelry business, a la lily, in which i specialize in feather and shell designs. i do this from home and sell in boutiques, and hope to some day have the money to invest in shows for myself or a small store!

i also have my own graphic design business, j.l.c. graphic designs & marketing concepts, and create everything from logos to cards to clothing prints and websites. this is my life's love! i especially love working with small businesses and helping them get their feet off the ground, and working with artists to help them succeed!

my biggest client was nicholas of nicholas yust fine metal art. he received such positive reviews from my marketing materials, and saw a direct correlation with sales, that i have been working with him every since the first design of a logo for him.  now, i work with him "full time" on things like brochures, booth design, marketing strategies, show organization and planning....

nice to meet you all and can't wait to learn from all of your experiences!

  • diane,

hi! no i have never done a show with my jewelry (aside from having it IN fashion shows other people have done). and i have not applied to or even heard of the crafty supermarket.

i see the booth fee is low (which has been my problem) so maybe i'll look into it! thanks!
