  • Hello Everyone, I need to ask a question.  Each Art and Crafts show that I'm trying to apply for wants a photo of my booth.  Since I've never set up at a show before, what do I need to accomplish this.  Do I set up a table outside and take a photo?  What is it they look for and why in these photos?

    Thanks, Terri Faye

    • Hi Terri there are lots of threads in forum discussions and blogs that refer to booth shots.  To start, click on Forum in the top menu bar and then enter "booth photo" in to the search bar.   I just tried it and there are 18 pages of posts!!  (If it doesn't work, click on this link to take you to my results http://www.artfairinsiders.com/forum/topic/search?q=booth+photo
      • Thank you Annette.  I found tons of information there.  I believe I'll get all my ducks in a row first and get my booth ready and set up and get some photos first.  Thank you again, this link is very helpful.
  • Welcome Terri!

  • Okay, Terri, we're looking forward to the day when you will no longer be a Newbie -- but one of the experts who so generously share their information on this site. Got any shows lined up?
    • Hi Connie, Thought I'd let everyone know, that I was accepted to my first juried art show for the Winnsboro Fine Art Market in November!  Still working on a couple more!  Many thanks for all the help and information everyone has given.
      • What wonderful news Terri!  Congratulations and enjoy it :)
    • Still working on finding shows, can't wait to get started.  Have any suggestions?  I'm planning on setting up at the next Heart of Texas Arts & Crafts in Plano, but that's not until October and The Peddler's Show in Allen, Texas which is in September, already sent an inquiry to them, but haven't heard back yet.  Been working hard at growing my inventory and making new jewelry!

Thanks to everyone for their very warm welcome!

      • Hi Terri,

I live in Texas as well, and thus far, have only been in two small shows.  Did you hear about Handley Fest ?  It is in your neck of the woods, and I just got in.  Perhaps they would have space still.  Now for the "disclaimer".   I don't know a thing about this show, and could not find any info on it, and is possible it is a dud.  But, they do have an "emerging artist" entry section that does not require a booth.  It may be the perfect show for you to get your feet wet.  Jurying is over, but you can contact them and see if you can get in.  The show is not until October, so you have time to acquire a booth setup.  Booth fee is low too.  It is supposedly juried, with prize money, but I have since learned from personal experience that doesn't always mean a quality show or quality artist's work (buy/sell).

On that subject, I have to ask again, ANYONE heard anything about the HandleyFest in Fort Worth, TX?
