I have now received two tips (I did not give a reduced price) - a dog walker ordered five dog leash hangers and paid me a $100 tip and last week I completed a customized dog leash hanger with two dogs and two hooks/two crystal door knobs and received a $25 tip!  Wish it came with every order, if it did, I would think I need to increase my price!

Also, if you are asked to fill out a survey following a show, make sure you complete it and send it back.  I won a free booth for next year's Lombard Lilac Days!

A couple weekend ago I was a vendor at Dog Days of Libertyville (IL) and received a thank you plaque!  That was a nice touch!

  • A couple times when I've done custom work, outside of Art Shows.  Recently, I did a rush job of editing and compiling photos into a memorial DVD and got a nice tip.   I can't remember ever getting a tip at a show.

  • Occasionally- usually for repair work where I don't charge much.  I think they feel guilty I'm charging so little and the tip makes them feel better!

  • Yes, at the studio. A local lady who raced cross country on mules side saddle always rounded up her repair bill to tip me. Told her it wasn't necessary but she always insisted.
