Any ideas for good sources for mattes and clear envelopes for them? I used ClearBags a few years ago and they seemed good, but there might be other suppliers out there that other people use.

Clearbags is the best I know. We sell them and we are based in Dallas TX and have different qty discounts. You might be able to get them for less from us depending on qty and your location. On larger sizes we sell 10 packs where they only sell 100 packs.
Who are you with in Dallas? I was born and raised in Dallas (Preston Hollow) and was a corporate/magazine/celebrity photographer there from 1980-2009. I had one of the lowest account numbers at BWC and had the run of the place, much to Chuck and Lou's dismay. I rented all my equipment from John and Nikki at Lite-Tec. Of course, all the shooters from my generation have retired by now and probably so have the lab owners.

Hi David, I own Frame Destination. I have rented gear from Lite-Tec myself, and know Chuck, Lou and most of the rest of crew at BWC. Chuck is no longer there which is weird and BWC consolidated to their Richardson location which is just a couple minutes from our place. Chuck went to Pounds Imaging. BWC is one of the few labs still doing chemical, let alone still alive.

I also had an account with BWC but used their lab in Miami Beach for Kodachrome, which I think they shipped to Dallas for processing.

They are online now at BWC.net. They do traditional and digital photo printing and all kinds of mounting including acrylic face mounting.
We will be upgrading our website (www.framedestination.com) so it is more modern like Graphik Dimensions and although our selection is much smaller, we plan to add more frames later this year so we are open to suggestions on styles and colors.
Instead of a company, you need to research frame styles and then find a place that sells that molding chopped and ready to use. A lot of photographers tend to stay with black aluminum Nielsen #11 type style for a traditional look, but there are tons of options. Just do a search for picture frames and look for a style that you like.
Not the cheapest but Graphik Dimensions which is also www.pictureframes.com has a great selection and service. I used a company called FrameFit that went out of business and their remaining inventory was purchased by Graphik Dimensions.
Or use Graphik Dimensions web site to find a molding you like and then try and find it cheaper elsewhere.
And don't forget Frame Destination who advertises on this web site.
