I have heard from several people (whose original artwork is expensive) that they have significantly increased their profit at shows by offering greeting or note cards with photographs of their artwork on the front of the card.  It seems that if customers can't quite afford to buy your original work, some of them are delighted to buy a lower-priced item that reminds them of the original work.  I'd like to explore this option, and am wondering if any of you can recommend an online print shop with whom you are happy.  If possible, I would like to have the cards also sealed in see-through pouches by the printshop, but that is not 100% necessary.  I would start out ordering a reasonable quantity (not 3,000!... maybe 100-200) and see how they sell for me. Thanks for any advice you can give.  In the meantime, I am working on improving my photography skills......yikes!

  • Hi Besty. Cute work!!!! I use uprinting.com. They are good and have done a good job on my forms. You have the freedom with them to do just about anything you want and I found their rates to be very reasonable. Best of luck to you!!! Elle
    • I will check them out, too, Elle.  Thank you!

  • Betsy,
If you want to print your own on an inkjet printer you might want to check out Red River Paper. They have everything you need to do it yourself. Even if you don't want to do it yourself you should still check them out for materials to go along with the cards that you have some place print for you. They have the clear bags in card sizes and they also have clear boxes if you want to do a set package.
    • Awesome!  Thank you, Elbert.

  • I use Print Place. I have not tried their greeting cards, but I have been very happy with their service for business cards and post cards.

I like their prices and their online proof system. You can download the template that helps let you know how much margin you need to leave between the edge of your image or text and the border of the card.

    • Thanks, Mark!  I will check out their website.
