  • I have sold at the show since it's first year (it is now going into its fourth year). I have always done very well there, but I do have Detroit photography (and also photos of Belle Isle) so I am not sure how well that plays into it. They do a great job with the show in general, as far as getting the word out. It has always been well attended and been lucky to have great weather each year.

It is easy to get on and off the island, ample parking and a very short walk to the fair from the parking (its next door to the area where they have the grass where we set up our tents. Last year was dusty not sure why but that was one thing to contend with. I hope this year they do something to help tamp it down). You can pull your van right up to your booth spot. They have several food trucks with good food options.

I live in the Detroit area so do not have travel expenses but I think overall this is a great show personally speaking. I do most of Mark Loeb's shows (he also does Funky Ferndale, Palmer Park and Kensington Park) and he has always done a good job running them overall.

Any specific questions let me know!

    • Security seems good over night?
      • Hi Derek,

I have never had an issue with a fair, but know that the island closes at 10pm and no one is allowed on after that time, and the Detroit State Police do patrol the island.

    • That is very helpful info.  Thank You!
