  • Oh no! I did not know her but I did know her work, which I loved! My heart breaks for her children in particular. I do look both directions before going through intersections and behind me when I stop at a red lights. I have almost been hit from behind from people not stopping for the red light. Drive offensively out there wonderful artists. . .we don't want to lose any more any time soon.
  • I didn't know Marla, but when I was speaking with Amy Amdur earlier today she gave me this information. Amy said, "we are losing too many artists."

Here is another article with speaks of the randomness of life's happenings, from the Chicago Sun-Times: Sadness, controversy at the intersection of fate and randomness.

  • I just got a call from her husband telling me this.  He is a strong man and must be with 2 young girls to raise now.  This is a devastating loss.  I feel emotionally drained and saddened with this news.  Like can be so fleeting, and can be taken from us in a moment without any notice.  Enjoy it while here.

  • This is really sad.......  her windows were very fun and she will certainly be missed at the shows she does.
