  • I was looking at this one also. High booth fees for only a 2nd year show. Maybe if I lived within a few hours.

  • I am waitlisted for this show.  The information out there seems to be a little sparse, I would love to see more reviews on this one as well.

    • My experience with any show in Austin is that Austin is flooded with art shows throughout the year.  I have done several shows there in the past and find that my sales were marginal.  I quit one show because the sales dropped off, but the booth fee went up.....

I have no experience with this particular show, but, in general, Austin would be iffy due to the flood of shows throughout the year.

  • I think is is real important for artists to reveiw shows they might want to get into.  This is the only site I have been able to find with at least some comments.   With the price of shows, travel, accomadations, food and other expenses, most shows in a close proximiety to ones studios, 200 miles or less total out to be about  $1000 to $1500.   We are considering going back east this summer and do the chicago shows, all insight is very, very appreciated. We are in Colorado and do shows all summer here.  But with the economy hitting everyone, especially families on vacation, even the high end shows in Breck, Vail and Steamboat are very, very off.  Last year we did twice as many shows as the previous years and ended up with the same dollar amount.  We felt very fortunate as compared to many of our friends etc.  More comments are needed on the various shows everyone has done.   Thanks for your posting.

  • I just got called off of the wait-list and now have to decide whether I should accept the spot. This show is 1100 miles away from me and the rest of the planned circuit of shows fell through. Rowr!

    • Know the feeling on that..I have to drive for 4 days to Palm Springs with Gas going..ugh

    • Jan - is any show (with the exception of maybe the very top 10 shows in the US like Fort Worth or Cherry Creek) worth 2200 miles round trip?  Sorry, I just have a really hard time believing a trip this long without multiple shows would make it worthwhile unless it was one of the very top shows.

      • I agree with Ruth.  If you had other shows to go along with it, that would be one thing.  That is a lot of driving for one show.

  • all depends like any show, some do well others complain. I did fine last year, have reapplied, and got into fort worth, so hoping to do back to back... remember austin is a young market. downtown is very vibrant, i think you can appeal to a contemporary crowd there, unlike some shows in Texas.

  • I did this show and wrote a review...

This year this show is the weekend before Fort Worth. I think this show is worth doing if you have another show to do in TX back to back.

I have talked to artists who won't go back, but I for one have applied again.
