Abstracta display

I have the opportunity to buy a used abstracta display. Does anyone have one, know of one, or have used one? It seems like something that I would be able to handle alone, but that can always be very deceiving. Any input would be great, thanks, Shellie

    • Thanks for the reply. What do you use as a display now? I am a jewelry artist and this would be a next step up for me. Should I just skip this step and go right to something else? I am using the table/drape set up now and want to make the next leap!

  • I've seen a few artists use a display from

It seems to be designed to be transportable.

It's the top booth image on this page:

  • Hi Shellie

How many pieces  in your set up? Are you displaying jewelry or something else. I had a very complicated set up with abstracta when I had a line of papier-mâché years ago. One of the top reasons I liked it was for its compactness. When in transit  or storage it takes up very little space. The other main reason was that it looked so clean and nearly invisible - making the work stand out.  For set up you save beaucoup time if you make yourself a diagram and keep all your parts separate according to size et cetera.  If you keep your display simple it will not take too much time. But if you are like I was and have a very convoluted design it might just bring you to tears. So I repeat, keep it simple. And get the scratch proof plexiglass if you have shelves in your system. Good luck. I hope you have fun and enjoy your new display.

    • Thanks Charlene, I am displaying jewelry and will have to do the set up/take down by myself. Also, transport in a small SUV. So, I am trying to make a decision based on all of the variables. What did you switch to after the abstracta? Thanks for your input.

I think the compactness of the display will fit nicely in your SUV. Since you have jewelry, your set up will probably be more straightforward than mine.  I sold the  set up after I stopped making the papier-mâché. My current display is for showing oil paintings. Good Luck.
