"Oh, I stand corrected. I thought that their work just stood on it's merit.  Anyway, I still think that booth shots are overly rated and carry way too much importance and there will always be those of us that feel that way, and those of us…"

"Yes, it IS unfortunate! And I HAVE had to use light box things and all of that "stuff" that really has NOT ONE THING to do with the quality of my actual work. So, again... what does that say about the jurying process - and WHY do we put up…"

"I KNEW that this had to be a fellow potter writing this comment! We potters don't really see the point to all of this exotic 'booth shot' baloney (at least the other potters I know don't care...). We're about as grounded as…"

"You have to ask yourself, what does showing work hanging on the outside add to the image. You need to show three walls of the booth. You can position the tripod so the camera sees the edges of the pieces hanging on the third wall but sees the work…"

"For the picture, 10x10 will read better to the jurors. Unless you always set up a 10x20, I'd take the picture of a 10x10 for jurying. A 10x20 is like looking at a panoramic image and will display smaller and requires the jurors to spend more…"

I had been out of the art show world for about 12 years. Finally, when my life changed back to normal, I was once again ready - or so I thought! When I stopped exhibiting my pottery (in the old days) the juried shows did not require a booth shot.
