What are the best things about art fairs
The other crafters are the best! I've gotten so much help from many experienced crafters and I'm very thankful. Especially tips on how to set up my canopy and tables!! I also enjoy the customers--just meeting a lot of new people. They are usually pretty happy so that is a nice change from my past life in the corporate world.
Best show ever and why
MSU Spring Show--just great to get outside and get started on the season. Lots of good sales and saw quite a few people I hadn't seen in a while. Great unloading right by my site.
Worst show ever and why
Smetanka (promoter) show at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, MI last October 2009. I had never been to one of the Smetanka shows and didn't ask enough questions before I applied. This show included items for resale that were not handcrafted. I didn't even cover the cost of my rent and had to drive 90 miles there and back over 3 days. But I stuck it out. I just ask more questions about what kind of vendors are allowed now.
