Years in the Art Fair Business

First show ever

The first show I ever did on my own, not as part of a group was a small annual arts and crafts fair in Garnett, KS called the Garnett Square Fair. While I didn't make it rich on that show, I got the bug and started looking for bigger and better shows to try to jury into.

What is your website?

What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting new people and seeing old friends throughout the season at the various festivals.

Best show ever and why

Omaha Summer Arts Festival 2016. I made a sale for two large custom-ordered canvas prints to one customer. That sale alone almost doubled my income for the weekend.

Worst show ever and why

Summit Art Festival 2014, Lees Summit, MO. Hardly any customers at the venue for the entire weekend. I barely made back my booth fee but then had to pay for a hotel room for two nights and travel expenses so lost money. I haven't been back since!

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

I was doing a search for art fairs in Colorado and happened upon a discussion on your website. The more I read, the more I decided it would be beneficial to be a part of this group.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I absolutely love being a grandma and have three amazing little grandsons!

  • All fixed, Jean. Thanks for the alert. The good news (in case this happens again) is you don't have to add it all over again. If you click on your discussion and look at the headline/subject line you'll see (change) and that gives you the option to put your discussion into the correct place. Good luck with the selling.
