First show ever

Being both artist and craftsman, I have a long history of showing my work. I began showing paintings in NYC art galleries in the early 1970's. Woodworking has been a part of my areas of interest and I first showed furniture at the ICFF in NYC in the mid 1990's.

What are the best things about art fairs

Showing your work to a large audience without having an art dealer or agent. I have met other artists who I would not have met otherwise. Some have become friends and I find the exchange of ideas and information valuable.

Best show ever and why

My best show was a local event where interest was high and sales exceeded my expectations. Any show that fits the description is considered a best.

Worst show ever and why

My worst show was a local event that was not well attended and I didn't cover the event expense.

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

I was seeking info about Archie Smith's recent traumatic accident. I want to send him my thoughts and wishes. We met at a show in Montauk, NY this summer and I, having severed 4 fingers in 1983, can truly empathize.
