What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting other artists and getting my work in front of new potential clients.

Best show ever and why

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar in Austin, Texas. Fabulous staff, great crowds of enthused customers, high-quality fellow artists, and incredible music! The first time I participated I sold every piece I had!!

Worst show ever and why

Art City Austin. The expensive booth fee and the set-up was a nightmare! Didn't get in until 10:00 pm to begin setting up because the show was held on a busy downtown street. Likewise, the temperatures were in the 100's and there were no trees to add some shade! The number of attendees was dismal.

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

Stumbled upon it while researching other art shows I might be interested in. I believe there was a link from the Charlevoix Art and Craft show.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I grew up playing behind my parents' booth at art fairs, all over the midwest, Florida, and Texas. At age 70 my mother asked me if I'd like to take over doing what she did; creating bonsai-inspired bronze trees wrapped around beautiful mineral specimens, using an oxy-acetylene torch.
