What are the best things about art fairs

The people you meet, and the interactions with them. The good feedback on your work.

Best show ever and why

I have a friend that got me a one woman show at Case Western University, when I was making leather purses and funky area rugs. I sold out, they started buying my work before I could get things out of the containers. they were throwing my rugs on the floor and saying "i'll take them both" . it was crazy, I made $1,500.00 in a few hrs.

Worst show ever and why

There is a local show promoter who should remain nameless and one year for Valentine's day she was looking for artist for the weekend in downtown Cleveland. The location was great and she promised we would have heat and bathrooms, Not only 1 bathroom she said but 2. I agreed to do the show and it was a nightmare. Not only did we not h ave bathrooms not a 1 but we also didn't have a heat in Feb. in downtown Cleveland. She told us we could use the bathrooms in the neighboring establishments but she didn't clear it with them before hand and they were pissed. One of them closed the bathrooms to all saying they were broke, didn't matter if you tried to buy some thing or not. I have yet to do another with her,the memory of my freezing a%* still lingers.
