What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting new people and seeing the amazing work of artists.

Best show ever and why

Pittsburgh has always been good to me. Its my best show every year.

Worst show ever and why

PA arts & crafts christmas show in Washington, PA. It was at the fairgrounds and was huge. It drew many hundreds of people, the booth fee was over $500. It was 2 weekends and we sold 6 items the whole time. Didn't even come close to expenses for the first weekend, let alone the booth fee.

  • Hi Marilyn, for some reason your message is not showing up in my "tent discussion" so I hope this reply reaches you.

I just sold the chair to a local person. However, he had some doubts that it would fit in his travel vehicle, so there's a small chance I'll get it back.

Here is additional info on the tent:

We bought it new in May 2005. The awnings came later, roughly 2010 and 2015 and rarely used. We repaired two tiny holes in the canopy (vandalism) about 2010 and still holding fine. The velcro vents in the canopy need a bit of sewing and the canopy needs a scrub, but everything works as it should. This particular model has an oddity where the seams at the edge of the canopy collect water when it rains. It's never been a big deal as it pours out when taking it down at the end of the show.

FYI, we are delivering pedestals in Beaverdam OHIO this Saturday. Would be happy to meet you there as well and we could bring the tent if you would like to see it. :) Please let me know.

    Best,

    Paula
