What are the best things about art fairs

I love meeting and interacting with the customers. It is very valuable to see who is buying my work and what they buy. For the first six years I was in business 95% of my income came from wholesale and I had no clue who my customers were and how people reacted to my work. One of my favorite things is to see a customer come into my booth wearing a piece of my jewelry! I also love meeting other artists - sharing experiences. I have made a lot of friends at art fairs!

Best show ever and why

My first show of the first season I had my own tent and hit the art fairs hard was two years ago at Royal Oak Clay Glass and Metal. It was a great show and I won the award for Best of Jewelry. What a great start and I will always have the fondest memories of that show. Customers reacted very well to my work and it was busy! My best sales in one day at an outdoor show so far has been Charlevoix.

Worst show ever and why

My worst show was when I did a small show in the Michigan Union that was not well advertised and did not generate much foot traffic. I sold nothing that day, but someone told me about Etsy so in that way it was very beneficial.
