What are the best things about art fairs
I thoughly enjoy interacting with fair goers, seeing their eyes light up when they see my art, explaining my sculpting process to children and seeing their delight with the possibility of making their own. I enjoy watching the silent dialogue between my art and patrons, making new friends, learning from more experienced artists, enjoying the artwork of other artairs, and being out in the fresh air and sunlight -and selling my art as a true appreciation of my work.
Best show ever and why
My best show was SLAF, it's my only juried show, the tent and ProPanels were set up for us as Emerging Artistd, and thousands of people came by. The second two days were phenominal for placing my art into the lives of a large number of patrons and being invited to teach students at MICDS how to make sculpted art. The fair was also exciting because of the roving dancers, music, vendors, and high volume of visitors.
Worst show ever and why
My worst show was a one woman exhibit at the Maryland Heights Community Center. The night of the opening reception we had an ice storm.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
I likely did an Internet search looking for a tent. I may have learned of it via MAAA.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I'm 71 and just getting started. This is the best decade yet. Having fun at 71.
