First, this topic was originally posted in the blog area, however am moving it to the jury part of the forum to hopefully get a healthy, fun (and who knows what else :-) ) discussion going on about both Zapplication, their upcoming conference in Atlanta, and so on.

The reason for posting is that I have been getting email invites to the conference and am only starting to learn about the conference as it is kind of a new thing.  I have heard some good things and some not so good things.  The conference peaked my interest as I am a craft artist who like everyone else, wants to get into "good" art fairs and many only accept applications through Zapp.  I also admit I don't know a whole heck of a lot regarding Zapplication, except some basics.  At the same time I love going to conferences - I learn a lot, meet nice people, and the networking possibilities are endless.   For me this is important as I am the only one who runs my business - do the art fairs, manages the business finances, the sole creator and designer (yes there is an art to actually designing candles and the other items I make by hand) and before I digress, I enjoy the company of like minded individuals/peers who can provide different perspectives to all things that involve the art fair and art business world.  I also don't mind speaking up on behalf of artists when it comes to issues that pertain to artists.  Now I have no idea if the Zapp conference is one of those places where a symposium of great art business and art fair minded people can solve "the worlds problems" so I am humbly asking those here what your take is on the conference.  Have you gone to it?  What was good about it and of course what is not so good about the conference?  Also, if you don't recommend going to the conference, which ones would you recommend?  - Michelle
