Tell us please. Many of you are heading to Louisville for the St. James Court Art Show and its sister events. This is a lovely time of the year to be in Louisville in this historic neighborhood. Tell us in the comments if you're going to be there and your booth # so you can meet one another. Everyone who shares their info will receive our AFI bumper sticker so you can identify yourself as part of the art fair tribe.

Any other events going on this weekend? Tell us about them.

  • Franktown,Colorado southeast of Denver at 7000 ft. Friday night and it's in the 30's, foggy and with a cold mist. It's supposed to snow and freeze tonight. I've had upstairs and downstairs studio fireplaces going all day. I plan to stay inside, stay warm and work on four new saddles. Also have about half dozen special orders from summer shows to finish. Good luck to all you hardy souls out where the weather is better.
    • Sounds like good planning on your part, Dick. It is not nice here in Michigan either, but I have a warm cat, a football game to watch and we turned on the furnace.

  • I'm in Dallas at the Cottonwood art Show with our buddies Rick and Linda Bachman see us in the Picasso row booth 59 for me. Today's set up was not as terrible as I've heard. Tomorrows weather is supposed to be turning due to a cold front with Sunday a bit better. We shall see. Best to everyone!
    • Thanks for reporting in, Brian. Hello to Rick and Linda. I'd love to hear from them and so pleased to know they are back in business after their fire earlier in the year.

I've never been to Cottonwood and would love a reading on this one after you're finished. AFI member Jim Parker is there also.

  • I will be at the Norcross Art Fest in historic (aren't they all historic) Norcross, Georgia on Saturday and Sunday. This will be my first time at this show. Last year it won an award from the County Chamber of Commerce and is expected to have an attendance of 50,000 a 60,000. The weather should be fantastic for an outdoor event. The only downside is it is setup the same day as the show. I am not fond of that arrangement, but it just makes for a very long day.

Good luck to everybody doing shows this weekend. Should any of you be at this event, I am in booth s-15; Wynhill Pottery.

    • Good to hear from you, John. Georgia in October has to be just about the best time of the year. Good luck with this show.

  • I'll be at St. James Court, booth #SJ-165, right next to the pink palace.

    • Been there before, Cathy?

      • Yes, this is our 5th year on the court but we have a new spot this year.  So far we like it much better.

  • Wheaton Festival of Fine Craft in Millville, NJ.

Millville has a centuries-old tradition of glassblowing (owing, in part, to the broad, white quartz sand beaches of the nearby Jersey shore).  This gave rise to the Wheaton Arts Center, which has put on this successful show for years.  Art lovers in the entire region wait for this one.  It's a real honor to be accepted, and I'm looking forward to a great weekend!
