Having retired from the teaching profession this last May I am ready to embark on my new path and I need a good tent to make this possible. I live in Kansas City but I am willing to drive or pay for shipping.

For those looking for a used tent, how much are you willing to pay? The top brands hold their value. We did a show a few years ago and an exhibitor was retiring. She was selling everything, including her 10+ year old Light Dome. She said she paid something like $900 for it. She said the top bidder as of Sunday night got it, no matter what the price was. She sold it for $600. Cash.
As far as wind resistance for a pop up, it all depends on the model. You can spend $199 and get a "consumer grade" canopy that's pretty flimsy. http://www.ezup4u.com/express2.php

Or you can spend a little more and get a professional grade unit. http://www.ezup4u.com/enterprise2.php
There's a good discussion over in the Art Fair Discussions section concerning wind and EZ Ups.
My budget is used right now. Borrow an EZup from a friend, but not so sure about it's wind resistance.
I'm looking for a used tent. Are you a rep or are these used tents?
