Some of you may know me I live in Cocoa Beach and this press release just came out on the Space Coast Art Festival moving to Port Canaveral due to construction in Cocoa Beach for Thanksgiving .Tho, the City has offered to move back construction start up until after the festival. I have alot of experience dealing with Port Canaveral events as I have done a weekday market for port of call passengers for now 4 yrs.My statements are my opinion and only my opinion of what I have seen out there. Space is plentiful out there but so can the wind it lies south of the cruise terminals and a north wind can be sketchy . There is no visual exposure from A1A . To the Port its just another event ,where in Cocoa Beach it is an event that locals look forward to ,If you check out Cocoa Beach Post facebook page you will see the locals are not that happy. The one positive if you can call it that for an art festival . The Port Authority is in the process of building a cruise terminal on the south side of the Port completion date 11-14. Even if there is a ship in Thanksgiving. will they buy big art . I've attached the press release and let you all make your own decisions . I felt I was obligated to give the good and bad of what I know from experience from the area . I have lived here for 14 yrs and love the beach and the art festival ,although I am moving most of my operations up north and won't be doing the show in the near future ,but as an traveling artist who knows the expenses of showing up at art festivals ,as I said I felt obligated to forward what I have seen..I feel it is a mistake but that is only my opinion.

It was nice of you to think of others who may not find out about this until after the have applied to the show. Do you think it will really hurt this show not being visible from the A1A? Does this show rely heavily on people seeing it as the pass by?
The City of Cocoa Beach has a huge sign as you drive through town for about 2 weeks prior .I think any show suffers when you don't see it and its hidden and trust me this is hidden compared to the center of Cocoa Beach.The Port has a newly built tower that has been open for 5 months and their marketing has been less then stellar .Nobody can just walk to it like the present location .I'm sure that the festival will promote fine. Like I stated ,to the Port its just another event to promote what they are building out there ,to Cocoa Beach it is an event the locals look forward to .Its approx. 8 miles from the location where it has been in a different town .I did this because if I traveled for the show I would be disappointed at the locations visibility as an artist who has done approx 100 plus shows and have seen what a lack of visibility can do to a show.
