Hello,

I am wondering how you handle shows like St. James in Kentucky with regards to the various locations and applications? I have not seen this before (nothing like this in Canada) and I originally applied to the Belgravia Court section (notification Mar 31) and then noticed the other areas and also applied to the St. James Court section (notification April 30).

I guess I am asking two things (not assuming I am being accepted into either or both);

If accepted into the first one... what do I do?

Do you have suggestions as to which of these two sections might be better?

Thanks' all

Jeremy Browne

  • Of course you haven't, Jeremy. As I'll bet you have noticed there really isn't a formula on how these shows are run. Almost every fair around the country is put together by a different organizer and each of them has their own vision of how they want that show to be.

    A little history on St. James. It started with only the show on St. James Court. Neighborhood people got together to raise some money to take care of the common areas in this lovely historic area. Then some of their neighbors, on Belgravia, 3rd St., 4th St., saw how well that was working for them and as the years went by added their streets to the show. Each section is run independently. It is quite a sprawling event held at a beautiful time of the year.

    The St. James area is the mother of it all and is still considered the best section of the show, a "must see" area for people who attend and shop. We participated in it for over 20 years. I don't know a lot about the other sections except that Belgravia is a part of the event that many people have to walk through to get to the Court and it does have some good work there. Search this site for "St. James" and you'll find lots of information.

    I am adding "tags" to this discussion now to make this part of that search.

    I encourage everyone to add tags to their contributions to enable the rest of us to find their words of wisdom ;)
