I attended this show last saturday, November 22nd, which happened to be right next door to where I live in the basement of a Presbyterian church.  As inauspicious as this sounds, it was truly a delightful surprise!

It really was a "fine art" show with only art and craft of the highest quality...very impressive and well attended.  I don't know the history of this show but they said they'd been doing it in the church basement for the last four years and before that at the Pleasant Ridge Communtiy Center.

Is anyone familiar with this show or have any of you participated in it?  I'd say it's worth looking into and that's exactly what I plan to do for next year.  I only wish I'd taken my camera along so that I could have captured some images to share but they have a Facebook page,so maybe they'll post some photos there.

  • I know this show has the pick of the litter of all artists in metro Detroit and has a solid reputation, more of a word of mouth thing, but definitely in the right location demographically, right in the heart of upscale neighborhoods and in hipster-ish folks with double incomes.

  • Thanks, Jacki, there are so many wonderful artist's markets in this area, it's overwhelming.  I just need to start picking and choosing and hoping I get in.  They certainly appreciate original art and craft here, I feel extremely lucky to be a part of it...so exciting!

  • That sounds like a good place to start, Tina.  No hotel, food, or gas required.  It would be a win win situation for you.
