Raising a Light Dome Canopy

Does anyone have any experience with raising a Light Dome canopy to accommodate extended Pro Panels? Of course this has occurred to me two weeks before leaving for a show, so I am looking for a quick and dirty method that would be sturdy enough for Sun Valley winds. Last year's double booth was a bust, so this year I am looking to get the most out of my 10 x 10 space by going up. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the suggestions, Walt. I'll definitely do all of that, although the dog tethers will have to be on only two sides since I have a corner booth. Perhaps I can put one tether at the outside corner as well, below my weight, without tripping anyone.

We've one that we frequently extend to the tallest it will go. From our experience, just make certain you securely anchor everything down. If on dirt, put three dog tethers down (center of sides and center of back) and anchor with camlock straps - AND sink spikes in the holes of each foot. If on asphalt, use deck screws in the feet and heavy weights where the tethers would have gone with the camlock straps. This anchors the feet as well as the top corners really well. We've been through fifty plus mile and hour winds like this without any problems.

  • And, nevermind. I finally found the extension kit on the Light Dome website and ordered it in time for my show. They say it will fit the tall panels. But if anyone has any experience with that I'd still love to hear about it.
