I am Mark Oehler and my wife, Nancy and I live in Reeds Spring, Mo. We are in the Missouri ozarks and are south of Springfield and near to Branson, Table Rock Lake and Silver Dollar City. We moved here from Milwaukee, Wis in 1972 and built Omega Pottery Shop studio and sales gallery and a few years later a home. I have been potting fulltime since 1970 after returning in one piece from a year tour in VietNam as a combat infantry. That experience gave me the ability to not be intimidated by much.
I did my first art fair in 1967 at the student union at UNI in Cedar Falls Iowa. I chose to be a studio potter first, not a teacher, or professor or magazine writer. A potter. What does that mean? ... mostly modest income.
I hope to have something to contribute, but maybe I don't. I am always looking for somethhing new to do.
