Must-have tent accessories?

I'm still shopping around and haven't had much luck with used tents. I'm thinking I'll probably go with a pro base package from Showoff.

I'm looking to keep costs down until I am fully invested in doing festivals. I don't know yet how many festivals I'll be doing in 2016 as I'm still waiting on acceptance notifications.

Are there any accessories that I absolutely need to have? Or can I just get away with the base tent (obviously I'll need weights here in Colorado, but thinking beyond that).

  • Sta-bars help a lot with stability.  If the tent needs awning zippers added for awnings make sure to get them all the way around even if you don't buy the awnings at first.  They are a pain to add after the fact.  I second at least one wall in sections.  Mine front wall is in sections and is also clear.  If it rains I can close the two side pieces and people can still see and come in the tent.  If you get a clear wall be sure to have some way to cover it when you close for the night and don't want people to be able to see in.  If it doesn't come with carrying bags those are very helpful to keep things all in one place.

  • Depends on what you are selling - if your work can get harmed by rain, front awning.  If you need to store things behind your booth, back awning.  To access behind your booth directly, get a back door.  If you want to be able to have your booth partially open in bad weather, front and back walls in 3 sections (you would need that if you have a back door, but I find it handy for the front wall).  if you want an area inside your booth to hide things behind, French wall.
