Trying to find info on shows within 6 hour drive from OKC. I just did Bayou City Downtown in Houston and it was brutal trying to get there and back while juggling with my full time job. These two qualify but can not find any info on the shows. Has anyone participated in either show and can shed some light?
Zapp makes Smoky Hills River sound like a strong show but as always...could just be good marketing. It looks like there is a seperate craft show from the fine arts show. My medium is photography.
I am completely confused as to the Wichita show. I have never been to a Art and Book Festival. The web site picture appears to be a very conservative classical art piece and it is sponsored by a museum so concerned that this may be more of the traditional classical art and my photographs which are bright colors and printed on aluminum metal may not fit in.
I appreciate your thoughts on either show.

I know several people who live in Salina, and they all tell me the Smoky Hill festival is not just good marketing, but quality art. (I haven't applied to this one simply because it seems to fall on a weekend that conflicts with other commitments - but I would if I could)
I did the Wichita Art Book & Craft fair 2 years ago - nice because it's inside, no tent needed, very easy load in/load out. The art ran the gamut from high end to crafty, and maybe a little buy/sell (just a little). I sold a couple small items (I paint brightly colored abstract acrylics), but the majority of the patrons seemed to be "lookers", or just more interested in small ticket items. Upstairs at the convention center is the book sale. I understand this show used to be aligned with another festival (summerfest?? I don't recall the name). I was told by other artists who had shown there before that the attendance was quite a bit lower without the other festival going on at the same time.
