In Memoriam: Pamela Hill, Sept. 15, 2021

9603593067?profile=RESIZE_400xPamela Hill died on Sept. 15 after a 4 year struggle with colon cancer. Pam grew up in Amish country in Illinois and learned quilting at an early age. I must have met her in the 1990's, who knows where? You know how it is there are people you see regularly at the shows, you are so involved with your own situation, but that special work and unique person keeps showing up in a booth near you and you wish you were as talented, as cool and creative. And, did I say fun and smart?

She exhibited her quilts coast to coast, winning the big awards from the ACC Baltimore show, Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, ACC San Francisco, etc. Articles about her work appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Smithsonian and more. Her work is included in public and private collections including the American Embassies in Pakistan and Thailand.

In our business she was one of those people who enriched your life when you met her at a show, always helpful and glad to see you too. She will be missed by so many. Learn more: http://pamelahillquilts.com/https://www.facebook.com/PamelaDianaHill
