Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
I first met Ron Scarborough at the Palmer Park Art Festival in Detroit in 1978. He must have been pretty young then, guess I was also. His wonderful work drew crowds and he was a celebrity in the crowd of admirers. I wish I'd had the good sense to buy a piece of his work at that time.
This week he died at the age of 74. He was a successful artist who had one-man shows at the Flint Institute of Arts and other urban areas. He was an exhibitor at the first Palmer Park Art Fair held in the '70s and when Mark Loeb brought that popular event back a few years ago Ron appeared again as the poster artist.
He had a long career in the arts, a journeyman who was able to stay in place and earn a living. Read the article from the Detroit News and be inspired and invigorated for your own career: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/entertainment/arts/2020/11/09/ron...
