Homemade skirts for ProPanels

For those of you that have dark gray ProPanels and want to add skirts to hide the ugly at the bottom, I found some 6'X8' area rugs at Lowes that are a very close match to both the fabric and color of the dark gray ProPanels. Here is the item to look for at Lowes:

EcoRug Ecorug Charcoal 6-ft x 8-ft Rectangular Gray Solid Indoor/Outdoor Area Rug

Item #: 449527 |  Model #: CP38N78PJ1L1

They are about $18 each

I bought 3 of the rugs and cut them into 20" wide X 8' long strips. I then attached (with Gorilla Glue) 2" X 2" squares of Velcro about every 18" along the top edge on the back side. I also added a square of Velcro at the back bottom corners. I used the One-Wrap Strap Velcro that has the hook on one side and the loop on the other.

You can cut the skirt material to 38 1/2" if you prefer, just like the ProPanel skirts, but I think the longer lengths look better because you can wrap the skirt around to the back side of your end panels to completely hide the leg of the ProPanel.

I bought three rugs so I would have enough material to do both front and back of my panels in case I set up inside without a tent. Two rugs are enough if you only want to cover one side. Actually, if you set up your panels as three straight walls, and you cut the rug into 18" strips, then one rug will be enough.

I attached a picture of the finished product.

  • They also sell that indoor / outdoor carpet by the foot.  I use it for a rug in my booth.  I bought the skirts from ProPanels last year and one thing I found out about them is that they really restrict air flow.  They are great when it is cold but I end up pulling them off when it is hot so the booth can get the benefit of any breeze blowing.
