I have been approached by two different promoters to be a part of their Home and Garden Show".  When I think of H&G shows I think of rain gutters and sun porch additions.  But in thinking, it may be an avenue to home decorators and folks in the process of fixing up or setting up their home.  Has anyone done these type of shows?  What medium and success or not have you had?  I am a photographer artist.

  • I have done a home show before under an umbrella of a art society the people had not idea of what and why we were there they would almost stay clear of us. They seemed to be there to get brochures and watch demo's.... it was load, bright, expensive and very long hours.

I should mention I am a jeweler, also included in the group was small scale furniture, kids oriented painting (prints) clothing from recycled goods all alittle different and nice quality. As I remember I sold the most and a couple of them sold nothing.

    • Thank you Tamara.  Good to know.

    • I agree with Tamara, run away as fast as you can...We have checked out 2 or 3 different shows

(since we sell garden metal art)  I admit that there were people there, thousands.  but all they were buying were (buy sell cutsy garden critters) that were selling for 2/$5.00 or shamoo's.

      • Thank you also Jacque.  I would think metal garden art would do well at these shows.  Better than photography.  Unless I hear something different I think I have my answer.  Best wishes to you both in 2013.
