Help! I have called several companies and have been unable to get insurance for my jewelry. i tried to get a rider on my home owners policy but they only insure costume jewelry. I'm a newbie and have my first show this weekend! I need to get coverage for theft, loss, and liability. If you have a good company please provide me the company's name and the phone number. thank you. lisa

  • thanks everyone for responding so quickly! I am going with State farm since i already have them for homeowners. It will run around $400 a year. 2 policies, one for items at my cost that run under $100 and one for items over $100. does this seem to be what it costs?
  • We use State farm as they cover our studios, inventory in transit, loss at fairs, liability at fairs , i.e. the whole business. By this weekend I am not sure it can happen that quickly.

  • RLI is pretty good. They tend to specialize in insurance for show artists. Been around for a long time. - Michelle
  • We have an Inland Marine Policy with State Farm. They insure our jewelry in the studio, in the vehicle and at shows.

  • I use RLI. My agent is Chris Alexander. 309-692-1000 ex. 5481. I am insured for photography so not sure of the terms for jewelry.
  • Have you read the discussion about Commercial liability insurance?
