Hello everyone! I love the feedback from all the helpful artists/members here. So I've got another opinion question for you all. I do pencil art and set up at outdoor art festivals in the south. I have a modern style of framing here with a plywood backdrop and a glass clip frame separated off the wood. The other method is a barn wood frame. I want to pick one style and drop the other. So the question is: Which one do you think would sell better? Three photos attached.
Thanks so much in advanced.
Jeff

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I've attached some new photos (I'm not a photographer) of the new frames. They are silver with suede black/grey double matting. I think they look really nice. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that you can hardly tell that the black is suede. The suede effect seems to show up better in different colors. But it's a much richer black than the standard black mat, so I'll probably stick with it, unless anyone knows where to get standard black mats that are a really rich black. Thanks again everyone. I love this new clean professional direction.
Ok so it just dawned on me that my images were to big to upload. So here are the updated images.
Thanks!

Looks great!
Jeffrey,
Very nice! Worth the extra thought.
Yes, Jeff, your work is too nice for those other frames you had. I also like black frames and I think you can always frame a piece or two in something really nice for a high price point. You may be surprised and make a few large sales, too.
Even though I'm all the way on the other side of the country, I've been using Florida Frames quite happily for years. Their quality is quite good and their prices are super low. Very good value. Nice people too. floridaframes.com
Wow! Thanks for that Robert. That was going to be my resource. Do you have any other suggestions?
I use Complete Framers in South Florida. http://www.completeframers.com/ They are a wholesale supplier of frames, matts, glass, etc. They sell to a lot of the local frame shops here in FL. I cut and join my own frames so my costs are a little lower than even Michaels or Hobby Lobby and much better quality. They may not deliver to your area, but they may know a counterpart in your area. You may also want to call the frame manufacturers and see who they recommend for wholesale frame sales. Another idea is to ask a local custom framer who they order from.
Frame Destination in Dallas, or American Frame in Maumee, Ohio.
Both good sources.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I've replied from my phone a couple times but it doesn't look like it actually posted. So thanks again. I think I'm going to go with a double mat (black bottom and light grey suede top) & probably a low cost black frame and let the customer decide on whether to upgrade that on their own. I think it's all going to look really nice soon. (and my 7' tall homemade hanging pro panel prototype came out really nice too. I'll ad pics later. Thanks for all the help everyone, and I'm looking forward to a more professional year thanks to this website. I'm very excited! Happy holidays y'all.
