Does anyone make a special display for a certain piece? Something that makes it stand out from the others? I've visited some shows this summer, since I've only done two shows,I really needed to research.
I created a handflower bracelet piece, an octopus that is worn as a bracelet and two tentacles wrap around the forefinger and pinky, kinda like rings...
It's a piece that I want to feature...hopefull sell, but mostly to get people looking..
I have Crown display cases but I think it might get lost in the case. I constructed a special display case for it,which goes with it if sold, hoping they may consider it for wearing but also for display as art when they're not wearing it...
Not shown in piccie is I have beach themed decor, star fish and shells hanging from supports, want to make it a fun booth to visit too... also making skirts to cover up ugly weights....
This is my booth set up and I can set it up in the space between the two top cases.

Michelle, love this! It is over the top for a lot of shows, but why not? It is creative, fun and will be alluring to your special customers. You'll build yourself a niche for collectors with these pieces.
I think people love to come to the art shows to see unusual fun and even some over the top pieces... WIth all the mundanery and uncertainty all around us, isn't an art show a little trip holiday from it all? My tent is a bit like Willy Wonka doing jewellery.. I have to sit around in a tent all day,I might as well have fun. when we had our store, before it was lost in a fire, it was over the top too. We decorated it in a victorian style,I called it the New Orleans Brothel style.
Most jewellery stores are boring, plain contemporary...
I wanted a place where you could sit, relax, look at goodies and nosh a cookie or candy... People used to come by and visit and not feel pressured...

Nice!
I applaud your adventuresome spirit. This wouldn't work for others but I like the idea that your environment reflects your personality and can attract your particular customers. It's all part of that sales technique "dress like the customer you want to have."
We decorated out home in a similar fqshion,so I figured, my store is my second home with being there long hours so why not make it comfortable and fun. People missed our store, they'd come in and shop ,sometimes just drop by to chat... A jeweller is like a bartender sometimes...
We did have the best clientel around but eventually after a few open house events everyday people felt comfortable to come in..
That is an incredible piece of jewelry. We are also beach and pirate themed, but make pottery. At www.tipsymermaidart.com.
This weekend we are vending at the Tybee Island Pirate Fest. Boy would someone fall in love with that bracelet. It's beautiful. Keep up the good work.
