After yet another wet and stormy June weekend in Des Moines the question remains: Will Des Moines ever consider changing the date of the show to a more stable weather time of year? The most obvious date is in September between the St. Louis Art Fair and the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City. Many of the best artists in the country are in the midwest doing one or both of those shows and would love to have Des Moines as an additional option.  I swore off Des Moines several years ago and many others are falling off that show as the years and bad weather go by. What's the feeling out there? This would make for a pretty tempting trifecta the way I see it. Hope you see this Stephen King.

  • It was interesting to see the PR releases coming into my mailbox (I seem to be on their list): Show closed until further notice, I think at 4 pm on Saturday. Show opened, 6 pm on Saturday -- too bad.

This is the only one we ever did where they supplied sand bags to each booth. The high-low would come through and you could take as many as you wanted, then leave them behind for the show to pick up. They were appreciated.
