I have Propay and am considering buying the swiper that attaches to a cell phone.  Does anyone out there have any opinions/experience with this?  I want to know if this is a good idea or not.

Thanks,

Denise

  • Dropped ProPay for SquareUp (reader in the phone's audio port).   Lower % on each sale, no monthly fee, and no fee to move money to the bank.  If you have  high sales volume you have to work with them to free more than $1000 a week but that process seems to be working well too.
  • Hi Denise,

There have been several recent discussions about this on this site. Use the search function above in the Forum directory and you'll find lots.

I have switched this year to Intuit GoPayment with my iPhone. (No contract, 12.95 per month and can discontinue in off season, swipe rates are comparable to the competition, the swipe devise is free for the iPhone...don't know about other devises, and customer support has been excellent) The system has worked flawlessly for me for the last 6 shows. Check it out for yourself.  -- LC

    • Thank you! I will check it out now.
      • BTW, the service claims they do not charge a monthly fee and that is one of the options, but... they will charge you a higher swipe rate. When I did math, for me, it was better to pay the monthly fee.  You may find different. Good luck -- LC
