  • I've been using CLC for several years, they do save us some money in many cases.   You must compare their negotiated rates and remember to add the $8.95/night fee they charge on top of the room rate, but in many cases the prices still beat Expedia,Orbitz, etc. by $10 to $30 a night.  And sometimes CLC won't have the best rates.  Still need to do your research.   If you're a new member, use Referral Code #206569 for free sign up.  Hope that helps.

  • I have had the card for three years and I have only used it twice. The two times I have used it was for when I was able to start my road trip home after a show and was not sure how far I would be able to drive. There is really no savings by using the card as they generally end up being $4.95 more than the rates you can get when planning far enough ahead. CLC rates are are basically the same as the lowest advertised rates offered by a hotel.

For example, I just booked a room for August in St. Charles, MO the rate I was given by the hotel was $70.00 a night. I checked CLC's rate which is only given for a two week spread was $69.61 to 72.40. But on top of that is there service fee which is $4.95 if you are using the CLC business card. So I would have ended up actually paying more with CLC.

I have found that I know my shows far enough in advance that with confirmed shows that I always get a better deal by using a prepaid deal with the hotel itself. Or many chains have very good discounts on multiple night ( 3 or more ) stays.

I also use Wyndham a lot and I have a smartbiz savings account which always gives me the lowest rate you can find. It beats priceline, kyak, expedia, and CLC on every stay. Join Smart Biz for free I use this for 90% of my stays.

    • Thanks Rich, that is what I thought, about getting better rates elsewhere because of the 4.95 charge! And thanks for the Smart Biz link! Happy showing to you!
