  • Nice piece! What an interesting journey you've taken, Connie. How cool that you started out with an idea, and had the serenity and vision to follow the idea where it went. Your sites - and you - have helped me immeasurably, and helped introduce me to a whole new community. So congratulations and thank you!

And, man, you look great! How can you look younger in the new photo than in the old photo???

    • Thanks, Scott, Amy and Carrie -- I think new artists are surprised at how welcoming the art community is, as certainly exemplified by AFI. So many generous and helpful people helping each other out. I am  not surprised at that as when we started doing shows there was a lot of help and people openly answered questions -- but the fact that people come back to the site day after day and help each other is a blessing for all of us.

I am younger --- maybe they reversed the photos? Just kidding.

  • Great job, Connie! Well deserved!
  • Thanks, Carol and Greg. I was flattered to have been chosen.

A few interesting facts: the interviewer was Anna Charney, daughter of Bill Charney who started the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, one of the shows which revolutionized the art fair business. I remember when she was born.

Also, Anna is an art student at the Art Institute of Arts in Chicago, something I dreamt about when I was a girl but didn't feel brave enough to tackle.

    • Congrats Connie! Yes I read the article - good review of you!

  • I just read the Zapplication article and it is a nice tribute to a well deserving person... congratulations Connie...Well deserved...!
