This poor website doesn't even have a logo. It needs your help. I've used a design company for a couple of other websites, but it is hard to get a good one. Logo design companies don't know what the heck an art fair is even. We are specifically looking at a "header" to replace what is here right now. Secondly we'll want a logo, small and square that will be related to the header.

What are some ideas for images that represent what an art fair is, what an artist is, what objects, images, networks...would symbolize what this site is about come to your mind?

We'll do it in stages: images, colors, fonts, backgrounds, taglines, etc.

And, I think we'll offer some prizes for the best ideas.

Please help!

Attached are logos for two of our sites -- we'd like the new logo to look like it belongs to this group of sites.

    • My apologies, Alice, I seem to have deleted your logo idea when I was commenting...
    • Nice ideas, Alice. Thank you. We are looking to keep it in some kind of relation to our other sites. At this point I'd like to see some images, (artists, palettes, tents, vans, pots, art fairs) that represent a concept that goes along with what we have already established.
  • Attached are two ideas.

Here are some pointers. Remember to keep it simple. Be sure it will reproduce clearly in black and white. It is about communication not just winning an award.

  • Here is what else I'd like to see:

    1. items that signify that this site is about artists and art fairs and the art business
    a.
    b.
    c.
    2. ideas of images that symbolize this business

    3. My other sites are about "art fairs", this site is about "artists" and their business...what does that bring to mind?
  • Barbara, what a generous way to show your appreciation. Beautiful work.
  • just like everything else, if you want to do it right you should use a professional. it's my day job. if the contest doesn't pan out i would love to help you.
    • For the record, I am a 37-year career graphic designer and consultant and it is still my day job, as well. Spending a few minutes playing with an idea was one way to show my sincere appreciation for this site and all Connie's hard work.
    • Hi Laurie, I understand what you are saying. This is supposed to be a community brainstorming -- we are looking for lots of ideas -- not a completed logo. What do people think should be on the logo, not even into the font planning stage....concepts are what we are looking for...I am not asking you, of course, to give us your expertise for free...just playing with ideas
