I have done the Broad Ripple show for two years (once in the artist's field and once in the back pavement area) but this year I am in the artist's green (area to left of the entrance). This area is open on Friday night although it is optional. I am inclined not to open my booth because preview nights never seem to amount to much money. Anyone been in this area before and is the preview night worth it or not? Slight concern is if the people view that area on Friday night, they may not come back to that area over the weekend, and then I would miss out on sales if I closed my booth on Friday evening. Help!?

  • That is a serious concern, Lisa, every artist's worst thought on this topic.

We haven't exhibited at Broad Ripple for many years, but I have attended the show as a shopper recently. There was a nice attendance when I was there a few years back and people were circulating through the exhibits, not just hanging out at the bar/food area. Are you traveling from out of town and going to be there anyway? and planning on setting up on Friday? If so, I'd be inclined to participate. To me, it is kind of like advertising, sometimes people have to see things more than once and it is a chance to have some more in depth conversations with people, establish a relationship, so they can't resist your jewelry.
