It seems like a lot of the shows are having an awful hard time meeting their own self imposed deadlines this year.

Kohler sent out a notice pleading excessive applications on Friday and promised to send acceptances by today instead...kind of looks like they might miss this one too!

It's their deadline, they can make it whenever they want...so hard on the artists who have lives to plan.

  •  I have a feeling these missed notification deadlines are due to shows letting jurors review images on their computers at home, rather than the “old way,” where all the jurors met in a room to see projected images (or even monitor images: just one or two days, all together, is what I mean).

I think there may be less accountability. If a juror doesn’t allow enough time, then the whole schedule is thrown off.

I have no secret knowledge, and I don’t know what applies to this specific show: just that this year in particular, there have been so many delayed notifications, that I’m looking for cause and effect. And I do know that increasingly, many shows are letting jurors do the work on their own schedule.

    • I wish the show would at least share when they realistically may share the results. There are some booths fees due this week for the same weekend. I applied today for a backup show the same weekend which I wouldn't have spent the $ on if I was doing Kohler.
      • What did you find?! By this time of year, there aren’t too many options!

  • Come on Kohler...it's messing with my schedule!
  • Friday's email actually promised it for yesterday! So they are late twice over.
