Or have done it in the past.  Late August, "Glen Ellyn Festival of the Arts".

I’m just wondering….application states “Coordinated loading and unloading” …but does not specify whether it is drive-up unloading, or dolly-in. The layout looks long and strung out. I tend to assume I will be able to drive up…but don’t want any unpleasant surprises.

I have asthma and have pretty much stopped doing shows where I have to dolly in. Not only does it add an hour to my set up (and tear down), but wipes me out for later.

Thanks!

  • I did Glen Ellyn twice a couple of years ago.  There is one entrance road into the park.  This road branches left and right and this is where the booths are.  We have had to dolly from the entrance road - how far depends on how far out one of the branches you are.  We have also been allowed to drive down the smaller road - more like a sidewalk, I guess - to right in front of our booth.  We have also been allowed to drive over the grass.  They were a bit disorganized so what you were allowed to do depended on who gave you directions.  I think rain and soggy grass might also be a factor.  I would call them and explain your situation and see what they can do to help you.  If they can't/won/t help my best advice would be to get there at the earliest set-up time.

    • Thanks, Ruth! I sent them an email. If I'd thought of it earlier, I would have requested a booth near the entrance road. I just tend to assume I can drive up.

Was it raining the time you had to dolly in?

      • I don't remember any rain, but it was a few years ago.  It's a nice little show in a very pretty setting.  Good luck!
