A book that I highly recommend to newbies and veterans alike is Maria Arango's terrific volume, The Art Festival Guide: The Artist's Guide to Selling in Art Festivals.

Self-published on Lulu, it's available either as a paperback or as an ebook. Written with years of experience under the wheels of her trailer, Maria's voice is gentle, informative and humorous. She tells you a great deal of what you need to know and do when starting out in this great little industry of ours.

Do yourself a favor. Download this book, or order the paperback. You'll save a great deal of time by not reinventing the wheel. There are also previews of each chapter on Maria's site for the book, here.

As a woodcut artist living in the Southwest, Maria's perspective is helpful across the board. I only wish I found this book when I was first starting out doing shows.
