We recently started using a similar velcro hook called Prohangers with our Pro Panel displays. The hooks will hold my largest (18"x18") framed mixed media pieces that weigh only a few pounds. However, unlike a curtain hook which can be anchored into the Pro Panel foam core, the velcro hanger is anchored only by the exterior carpet material. This causes the heavier pieces to sag somewhat, especially in high humidity. But the advantage of these hooks is clear when displaying our smaller, lighter pieces. I still use the strap or cable hangers for the heavier stuff.

Well I use Pro-hangers and they work very well on lighter pieces. Very good purchase to make on my part. We save incredible amounts of set up time and they save my fingers, too. Don't know about the Harmon Hooks. For large paintings use the hangers made by propanels. They are neat in appearance and work very well.

I just got some harmon hooks and though I haven't tested them with 50 Lbs, I think they should hold up. If you are in doubt, you could use two hooks. The problem is not the velcro in my opinion. The problem is that the carpeting material on my Propanels tends to sag with heavier pieces. I fear that the carpeting might stretch and bulge out eventually. I think that the harmon hooks are best suited for smaller pieces unless the carpeting is firmly affixed to the surface of the panel.

We use pro hangers for our metal wall art.  I agree that the main problem is not with the velcro, but with the display carpet sagging in hot weather.  I try to spread the load weight with extra hangers from the bottom and the top.
