What are the best things about art fairs

Direct sales to customers. Meeting artists from around the country. Making people happy with my jewelry.

Best show ever and why

Hoboken Arts & Music Festival, Hoboken, NJ One of the first shows I did, it was marketed well, had good attendance, was fairly cheap to rent a booth space, and had a sense of community. It also had a clear rain date. Because of this, artists made a profit. There was also newspaper & TV coverage of the event.

Worst show ever and why

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit, New York, NY Show was 3 days. Had to break down & set up each day. Was on the sidewalk, which was not closed off - so people did not come specifically to shop for quality art items. Lots of non-customers who were rude, probably because of the sidewalk presence.
