What are the best things about art fairs

Being able to meet with other artists and of course sselling something.

Best show ever and why

Daphne Jubilee 2011 - 10 minutes to home, good sales, even with my bad spot - as a first year vendor you do not get the most central exposure, really nice and smooth organization

Worst show ever and why

Freret street market in New Orleans, LA - May 2010 - I skipped few months due to variuos reasons. The show used to have a small band stand, with a dancing place in front of it, so most of the customers were roaming in between the booths when waiting for their favorite band. The last show I participated the promothers decided to put benches at this spot (between the band and their beer booth) so no roaming at all. Coupled with no rain days (some other shows managed to book the Sunday if it rained in Saturday - and it rains a lot down Sounth), increased booth fees - in 3 years span the fees went from $25 to $75 for a booth, bad layout - I measured one day the markings on the parking lot for the booths, and they were 9 1/2 feet instead of 10', so you could not fit a standard size canopy in.
