Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival
What are the best things about art fairs
Other than the income, I'd have to say the cameraderie that develops in a community of artists.
Best show ever and why
Arts, Beats and Eats, Royal Oak 2010. Doubled my sales over my previous best show.
Worst show ever and why
Gold Coast Festival, Chicago, 2010. Amy Amdur moved the show to an isolated location on Chicago's lakefront and the crowds did not show. The festival location was a sloppy mess after only a modest rain. I bought bags of wood chips to fill in the puddles in front of my booth and Amy Amdur harrassed me for the rest of the weekend that it was my responsibility to clean up the chips when I left!
